If you need mortgage assistance, we encourage you to submit an application with us in addition to contacting your mortgage company. Since our assistance is not guaranteed, we also recommend discussing loss mitigation or other loan modification options directly with your lender.
You might also find it beneficial to speak with a HUD-approved Housing Counselor. A HUD-approved housing counselor is specially trained and certified by the government to help you assess your financial situation, evaluate options if you are having trouble paying your mortgage loan, and make a plan to get you help with your mortgage. To find your nearest HUD-approved housing counseling agency, visit the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development website or call 1-800-569-4287.
The State of Colorado has partnered with several nonprofit organizations to provide mortgage assistance. Please respond promptly if you are contacted by representatives from one of our nonprofit partners.
