Is your structure Certified for use in Colorado?
Per CRS Title 24-32-3311(1)(a), all manufactured structures built, sold, and installed for use in Colorado must bear an approved insignia. Due to the variety of structures that are regulated by the Division of Housing, we have multiple insignias that identify the type of structure. Primary insignias are 4 inches by 6 inches, while the Secondary are 2 inches by 2 inches. HUD insignias are 2 inches by 4 inches. Every modular structure and Tiny Home will have a primary insignia for the first box and one or more secondary insignias for additional boxes when applicable. HUD Code Homes will have the insignia on the rear of each box. Here are the current insignias currently adhered by DOH and approved representatives for the certification of the construction.
Manufactured Residential Structures (Silver Primary and Secondary)
Manufactured Non-Residential Structures (Blue Primary and Secondary)
Multi-family Commercial Residential Structures (Black Primary and Secondary)
Tiny Homes (Pink Primary)
Emergency Response Units (Green Primary and Secondary)
Components (Purple Primary)
Modified Structures (Silver/Green Primary only)
Out of State-Inspection Only (Green/Silver Primary 2 inch x 2 inch)
HUD Manufactured Home (Red)
Is your structure Certified for its installation?
Manufactured Homes are required to have their installation certified by the Division of Housing for compliance with the Division of Housing installation standards. These structures will receive a primary insignia along with the construction certification insignia for all manufactured homes and multifamily structures before they can be occupied. Manufactured homes (single family, duplexes, and townhomes built to the IRC) and Tiny Homes will have one Installation insignia per dwelling and Multi-family Commercial units will only have one insignia for the entire building. Both insignias are 4 inches by 6 inches.
